HumanCap recently featured one of our Leadership Development Products – the premiere Leap to Strategic Leadership Programme - held on 9 & 10 June 2015 at GTower Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. This programme was designed with the main purpose of enabling middle managers to enhance their understanding in how to transition from an operational leader to a strategic leader. The 2-day programme revealed what the competencies are and how leaders can help develop their team further.
The programme was delivered by our Senior Partner and Director, Prof Rozhan Othman. Prof Rozhan is a Professor of Management at the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology. He has over 20 years of experience in management research, consulting and training in the areas of Leadership Development, Organizational Change and Strategy Development/Implementation.
We also had the pleasure of having Datin Joan Hoi, a former partner of Accenture, Malaysia, as our guest speaker. She brought with her a wealth of experience of 10 years in banking and 15 years in management consulting. Datin Joan is also the author of the book, ‘Take on Change’ in which she shared her extensive experience in the field of change management and leadership in change initiatives.

Knowledge was imparted through the infusion of real-life case studies and interactive management games in order to ensure effective learning for the participants throughout the 2-day programme. Experience density of the trainer and participants - professional and career experiences were consciously interwoven in the programme for better learning results.
The participants were very intrigued by the course and the key learning that they were able gain from the 2-day programme. Some of the key takeaways that the participants highlighted in the Leap to Strategic Leadership Programme are understanding the distinct requirements of strategic leadership – what are the building blocks to establish the foundation of a strategic leader and how to execute a customised personal strategic leadership development that will work for each leader.
